On Monday the 14th of March 2016, over 300 people gathered at the Quality Hotel Globe in Stockholm to participate in what, according to the organizer Nordic Web Team, is the first of hopefully more Meet Magento Sweden events to come. The event attracted students, business owners, contractors and suppliers who all came to learn the latest about the platform, get a foot in the industry or make contacts for possible future cooperations. The presentations consisted of both Swedish and international representatives, where Klarna, Gymgrossisten, Vaimo and NA-KD, among others, gave presentations of how to work with Magento. NA-KD is a Magento-based marketplace founded by Jarno Vahantapio. He gave a very impressive talk about how to reach Gen Y and Gen Z customers among tons of other things. The site runs on Magento 1.0 but they replaced all frontend with React, which is interesting.
The day also included presentations from people who gave insight into completely different subjects. For example, the founder of Easy Size, Gulnaz Khusainova, gave tips about how companies can use their data to tie in their customers and ultimately sell more, and Guido Jansen, who is the Chief Psychology Officer at Euroflorist, told about the benefits of taking people’s subconscious into account when working with eCommerce (view the full presentation deck here).
Our very own PJ Utsi, Chief Creative Officer, gave a thorough insight into the omnichannel world of two Vaimo clients Naturkompaniet and BAUHAUS, and Wilko Nienhaus, Head of Products & Tools at Vaimo, gave the audience a good run-through of Aja, Vaimo’s in-house deployment tool that helps to streamline the Magento development flow.
