Gant

Established in 1949, GANT is a clothing retailer headquartered in Sweden with a presence in 70 countries around the world. Seeking to improve the performance and reach of its existing online store, the company’s operations sought an implementation partner that could deliver more value from the Magento software platform which it was already using. That search took the company to Vaimo.

The Challenge

With GANT, the challenge was a simple one. The previous site, based on Magento technology, was not achieving GANT’s expectations and was increasingly seen as an impediment to attracting traffic and converting visitors into customers. However, the company accepted that the problem was not with the technology, but rather in the manner in which it was implemented. It therefore engaged with a company that has a track record of delivering high- performance webshops. That company is Vaimo.

THE SOLUTION

The previous implementation had shown that the software is just one component of a successful solution. Perhaps even more important is the manner in which the software is implemented. Vaimo delivered a redesigned and improved front-end interface. This was backed by better back-end integration and performance. Vaimo brought to life several special features for GANT which underpin a high-performance e-business by driving traffic, improving conversion, increasing average order value and building loyalty.

PROJECT DELIVERY

As a demanding client with a clear view of what it required visually, GANT presented a challenge which was relished by Vaimo. That vision was largely visual; Vaimo harnessed it and used its experience to produce detailed project plans and specifications against which it could execute. Far from a simple project, the http://us.gant.com web shop required flexibility, under-pressure work and several intense weeks to meet the project deadline. With a commencement date of 1 August 2011, the work was completed in twenty weeks. While go-live was initially planned for December 20, 2011, hosting delays resulted in the site going online on 8 January 2012.

FUTURE ECOMMERCE PLANS

The successful delivery of http://us.gant.com is just the first step within GANT’s online aspirations. The company has a defined online strategy and intends to put more of its business online. As it executes its e-commerce strategy, it is continuing to work with Vaimo, which has already commenced projects for more countries. The e-commerce strategy provides for a phased rollout to some 20+ countries at present, with the success of us.gant.com serving as a delivery template site for the web shops planned across Europe.
