Vaimo helped Bunzl create a scalable B2B platform that connects subsidiaries and suppliers into one seamless procurement experience
The client
Bunzl is a global leader in providing products and solutions essential to business operations with a wide range of operational supplies, from packaging to cleaning products and workwear. The company operates through a network of more than 150 subsidiaries worldwide.
The challenge
Companies are struggling with managing multiple suppliers adding operational costs. Bunzl saw this as a market opportunity, and started the initiative BunzlOne: connect Bunzl subsidiaries and external suppliers into a one-stop-shop B2B marketplace.
What we did
Vaimo served as the strategic partner throughout the entire journey, from digital strategy to full B2B marketplace implementation, covering solution architecture, technology and vendor selection, and the implementation of the Mirakl marketplace platform in a centralized setup.
A B2B marketplace
that delivers a true one-stop-shop experience through a unified procurement platform

A seamless, user-friendly interface designed to make sourcing essential products faster and more efficient across one unified platform
For industries such as large grocery chains, food services, retailers, healthcare providers, and logistics providers, the procurement and receiving of goods represents a high operational cost, and managing multiple suppliers only adds to that complexity.
Bunzl had a vision that few organizations dare to attempt: transforming a complex network of 60+ subsidiaries in Europe and external companies into a single, unified digital marketplace.
Bunzl launched the BunzlOne digital marketplace to deliver a true one-stop-shop experience. Through BunzlOne, companies can source all their operational supplies from a single platform, giving them a simpler, faster, and more cost-effective way to manage their procurement and fulfilment, with full control.
Vaimo supported the course from vision to architecture, starting with a strategy phase designed to bring flexibility to that complexity. At its core, BunzlOne was much more than just a platform project: it was an entirely new business model taking shape within an established corporate environment.
By mapping requirements and business flows across every key role (buyers, sellers, customer service, supply chain, logistics, and finance), a shared foundation was designed. A basis where Vaimo also supported the budgeting and business case process.
From there, implementation turned strategy into something real. Vaimo led the overall process and data architecture and the configuration of the Mirakl marketplace: shaped the seller onboarding experience, and defined the integration strategy that would keep everything connected.
A B2B invoice consolidation solution, built on Mirakl's One Creditor capability and Mollie's payout solution, simplifying financial handling for the customer and seller payout operations across the platform.
The BunzlOne digital marketplace connects Bunzl subsidiaries and external companies into a unified B2B shopping experience, supporting a variety of customer journeys depending on how customers choose to interact with Bunzl.
BunzlOne launched first as a closed marketplace for key accounts, giving enterprise customers closed marketplace capabilities from day one.
The open marketplace followed in April 2026. What started as an ambitious idea became a scalable, future-ready B2B commerce ecosystem, proof that with the right partner, even the most complex transformations are achievable.
