Partnership 2.0: Why we are tearing up the traditional vendor contract

Let’s be honest about how most corporate IT partnerships end up.

It usually starts with a massive contract, slick slides and handshakes. But three months in, the friction begins. The client suspects the agency is inflating hours. The agency feels procurement is squeezing their margins. Each monthly invoice review starts to feel less like a conversation and more like an interrogation.

That isn't a partnership. It's a slow erosion of trust dressed up in contract language.

Why We Moved Away from Hourly Billing

When we started tearing down the hourly billing model at Vaimo, we realized we weren't just changing our pricing. We were changing how we build trust.

The traditional model leaves the client carrying 100% of the operational risk. If the agency is inefficient or hits a roadblock, the taxi meter keeps ticking and the client pays. That imbalance has always been there.

A Shared Risk Model

Partnership 2.0 works differently, we deliver fixed-price Work Items backed by hard delivery data. In practice that means three things:

  • We carry our share of the risk: If we miscalculate or deliver slowly, that is on us. The price doesn't change. We absorb the cost of our own inefficiencies.

  • You benefit from our speed: If we use our AI automation tools and optimized flows to deliver a feature ahead of schedule, you get your value immediately.

  • Radical Transparency: We can only do this because we open up the dashboard. We show you the actual flow metrics, cycle times, and throughput data. No black boxes. No forensic timesheet reviews at the end of the month.

Trust Built on Data, Not Promises
When you stop arguing over time spent and start looking at value delivered the entire relationship shifts. You stop treating your agency like a vendor you need to micromanage, and start treating them like an extension of your own leadership team.

We don't want you to trust us because we have a nice brand or a good pitch. We want you to trust us because the data proves we deliver.

The era of the defensive vendor contract is over. It’s time for Partnership 2.0.

To everyone who followed this series: thank you. The shift from hours to outcomes isn't easy, but it’s the only way forward. Let’s change the game together.
